Prince William will marry Kate Middleton next year, according to a new report.
The heir to the British throne will formally propose to his long-term girlfriend over Christmas, with a St Paul's Cathedral or Westminster Abbey marriage ceremony lined up for next summer.
A ‘highly-placed royal source‘ tells The People, "A number of bridges have to be crossed before any announcement.
"A Christmas engagement will allow William time to complete stints in all the armed services.
"It will also allow Kate time to be to be gradually introduced to the Royal court and be groomed in such matters as protocol and service."
The couple are currently enjoying a skiing holiday together in the Swiss Alps.
